Current policy responses in Indonesia have been focused on increasing public awareness of the risks of COVID-19. Nevertheless, there is limited information concerning public perceptions on COVID-19 pandemic that would contribute for formulating adequate preventative approaches to mitigate consequences of COVID-19 in the population. The Health Belief Model (HBM) approach was adopted in this qualitative study among Indonesian adults in 34 provinces. Risks and barriers perception of COVID-19 prevention measures were assessed include exploring perceived of susceptibility, perceived of severity, perceived of benefits and perceived barriers. In-depth interviews (IDIs) were performed in April 2020 via phone (online interview). Thematic analysis approach was applied for the qualitative data analysis. The findings suggests that perception towards COVID-19 has influenced level of participation and compliance in practicing recommended preventive and control measures. Several obstacles to implement the preventive measures included the readiness of the government in terms of infrastructure and human resources for health. Lacking in terms of complying with prevention policies and health protocols, and overlapping policies launched by the government felt by the public were found to create mixed messages and responses on adequate preventative measures relating to COVID-19 epidemics situation in Indonesia. Of which, in the context of global crisis a consistent regulation and firmness in implemented related issues play a crucial role in forming participatory of preventive and control measures. Persistent and assertiveness of policy responses can increase and sustain community trust as well as their attitudes and compliance with COVID-19 preventive measures for preventing community transmission of COVID-19.

The development of Center Point Indonesia (CPI) in Makassar City, South Sulawesi has brought significant socio-economic changes to coastal communities. This study investigates changes in the structure and socio-economic situation of Makassar coastal communities with the development of the CPI. The research results show that this development affects the state of the coastal economy, reducing the income of shipping and fishing companies. This change has an impact on the employment situation in coastal areas, which previously was mostly involved in shipping and fishing. Many people are now thinking about looking for another job. The development of CPI has also changed the physical composition and size of coastal communities, which previously were only limited to the sea, are now larger and connected to other areas. This research uses qualitative research methods and collects data from secondary sources such as reports and articles regarding developments in the consumer price index and the situation of coastal communities in Makassar City. The results show that the evolution of the consumer price index has influenced the socio-economic conditions of coastal areas, which previously were mostly involved in shipping and fishing. Many people are now considering looking for another job. This development has also changed the physical composition and size of coastal communities, which were previously only limited to the sea, but are now increasingly spread out and connected to other areas.

Abstrak: Jumlah sampah plastik yang semakin melimpah menunjukkan bahwa perlu ada upaya untuk mengelola sampah plastik. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi masalah pengelolaan sampah plastik dan menciptakan peluang usaha berkelanjutan di Desa Sukamanah, Kabupaten Serang, Provinsi Banten melalui pelatihan pembuatan paving block berbasis ekonomi hijau dari sampah plastik, masyarakat memahami pentingnya pengelolaan sampah yang ramah lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini adalah pemaparan materi dan praktik membuat paving block dari sampah plasitk dengan melibatkan mitra, yaitu karang taruna dan warga desa sukamanah. Peserta mengisi kuesioner sebanyak lima pertanyaan untuk mengukur tingkat pemahaman peserta.Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah terjadi peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan dan keterampilan pembuatan paving block sebesar 92,27%. Selain itu, kesadaran peserta terhadap manfaat ekonomi hijau mulai tumbuh. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan berbasis ekonomi hijau efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan dan pengetahuan masyarakat dalam mengatasi masalah lingkungan.Abstract: The increasingly abundant amount of plastic waste shows that efforts are needed to manage plastic waste. This service activity aims to overcome the problem of plastic waste management and create sustainable business opportunities in Sukamanah Village, Serang Regency, Banten Province through training in making green economy-based paving blocks from plastic waste, the community understands the importance of environmentally friendly waste management. The method used in this activity is the presentation of material and practice of making paving blocks from plastic waste by involving partners, namely youth organizations and Sukamanah village residents. Participants filled out a five-question questionnaire to measure the participants' level of understanding. The result of this service activity was a significant increase in knowledge and skills in making paving blocks by 92.27%. In addition, participants' awareness of the benefits of the green economy is starting to grow. These results indicate that green economy-based training is effective in increasing community skills and knowledge in overcoming environmental problems.
