Implementation of QbD Approach to the Analytical Method Development and Validation for the Estimation of Propafenone Hydrochloride in Tablet Dosage Form

Abstract: Chromatographic and spectrophotometric methods were developed according to Quality by Design (QbD) approach as per ICH Q8(R2) guidelines for estimation of propafenone hydrochloride in tablet dosage form. QbD approach was carried out by varying various parameters and these variable parameters were designed into Ishikawa diagram. The critical parameters were determined by using principal component analysis as well as by observation. Estimated critical parameters in HPTLC method include solvent methanol, mode of … Show more

“…Other method performance characteristics such as linearity and specificity are not needed to be incorporated in the ATP, as they are not directly linked to understand the agreement of a measurement with the true value. For example, an assay ATP should include a statement of accuracy and precision but not necessarily include linearity and specificity [ 31 , 32 ].…”

“…QbD approach indicates exploring the quality of analytical process during the development stage itself. 6,7 Trigonella foenum-graceum also is known as Fenugreek or methi belongs to the Fabaceae family, the plant is cultivated in India and North African countries. The seeds of the plant have a long history of usage as potent antidiabetic agent in Ayurvedic and folklore medicine.…”
