Implementing Web Services using PHP Soap Approach

Every year, the price of a house changes due to different aspects, so accurately estimating the buying and selling price is a problem for real estate agencies. Therefore, the research work aims to build a Machine Learning (ML) model in Azure ML Studio and a web application to predict the buying and selling price of two types of houses: urban and rural houses, according to their characteristics, to minimize the forecast error in prediction. Following the basic stages of machine learning construction, we build the prediction model and the Rational Unified Process (RUP) methodology to build the web application. As a result, we obtained a model trained with a linear regression algorithm and a predictive ML model with a coefficient of determination of 95% and a web application that consumes the prediction model through an Application Programming Interface (API) that facilitates price prediction to customers. The quality of the prediction system was evaluated by expert judgment; they evaluated efficiency, usability, and functionality. After the calculation, they obtained an average quality of 4.88, which indicates that the quality is very high. In conclusion, the developed prediction system facilitates real estate agencies and their customers the accurate prediction of the price of urban and rural housing, minimizing accuracy errors in price prediction. Noppitam district, Nakhon Si Thammarat is known as one of Thailand’s rich natural sources which features a range of agro-tourist attractions. However, there is no dependable information system for management of tourism and routing guidance available in such district. The locals mostly resort to their own social media platforms in attempt to publicize local attractions, which unfortunately causes disorderliness to the information. Upon arrival at the Noppitam district, Nakhon Si Thammarat, tourists therefore have to search for information of each tourist attraction separately. Regarding this, it is essential to develop the management information system for agro-tourism activities and attractions with the YII framework, and implement the MySQL to devise the database. This can help with management of information for tourism, restaurants, and residences available around the district. Moreover, it can serve as the central system which provides tourists with information regarding tourist attractions open in the Noppitam district as well as guides them to the destinations, restaurants, and residences nearby, with accurate multilayered data on Google Maps API. The system also enables tourists to give feedback, either via their iOS or Android devices. Thanks to the participative data management, owners of attractions, restaurants, and residences can manually update information to keep it all up to date.

Exploiting Cloud Computing and Web Services to Achieve Data Consistency, Availability, and Partition Tolerance in the Large-Scale Pervasive Systems

This article presents a new comprehensive approach to realize a sufficient trade-off between the CAP properties (i.e., consistency, availability, and partition tolerance) in the large-scale pervasive information systems. To achieve these critical properties, the capabilities of both cloud computing and web services were exploited in developing the components of the proposed approach. These components include a cloud-based replication architecture for ensuring high data availability and achieving partition tolerance, a web services-based middleware for maintaining the eventual consistency, and a data caching scheme to enable the mobile computing elements to conduct update transactions during the disconnection periods. The evaluation of the performance aspects revealed that the proposed approach is able to achieve a load balance, lower propagation delay, and higher cache hit ratio, as compared to other baseline approaches.
