Manbaul Khoir merupakan pesantren yang diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi pencegahan terhadap penurunan sikap remaja. Hilangnya kesadaran remaja untuk mengaji, dimulai pada usia 12 tahun ke atas. Program pesantren akhir pekan (weekend) adalah salah satu kegiatan unggulan di pondok pesantren manbaul khoir. Layanan ini menggunakan metode Asset Based Coomunitu Development (ABCD). Pendekatan ini menitikberatkan pada kepemilikan aset atau potensi yang dimiliki masyarakat untuk dikembangkan lebih luas dan dapat memberdayakan masyarakat. Alur pelaksanaan pelayanannya adalah pengembangan anak tentang potensi dirinya dalam upaya perubahan sikap hidup anak, menyusun konsep makro kurikulum pesantren berdasarkan konsep pendidikan karakter, mengorganisir dan mengajak anak mengidentifikasi kebutuhannya, menentukan prioritas dan mencari solusi, memberikan pemahaman tentang pentingnya kurikulum pendidikan karakter dalam upaya menghasilkan generasi intelektual yang bermoral, menerapkan konsepsi kurikulum pesantren akhir pekan, mengembangkan konsep kurikulum sesuai kebutuhan zaman. Kesimpulan dari artikel ini ditemukan bahwa penerapan program sangat diperlukan namun demikian perlu ada upaya yang lebih serius dalam menutupi kekurangan yang ditemukan.
