“…An unpublished report of Special Olympics Bharat (SOB), through a large‐scale health screening in India, it has been found that persons with intellectual disability are at increased risk of secondary health issues: 35% have untreated tooth decay; 15% have an eye disease; 35% have low bone density; 21% fail hearing tests; and 60% have at least one kind of skin or nail condition (SOB, 2021). Also, people with ID suffer from a higher burden of behaviour problems (Kishore et al, 2004) with a possibility of having psychiatric comorbidity among the people having intellectual disability (Lakhan & Ekundayo, 2017).…”
