The research discusses the effectiveness of learning in the field of Electrical Power Transmission (EPT). The model developed by applying the Higher Other Thinking Skill (HOTS) strategy using computer simulation media at levels 4 and 5, which is not yet optimal in improving learning outcomes in the EPT field. The HOTS strategy at the level of analysis and evaluation is needed in the study of electric power transmission which has abstract study material through complex mathematical modeling, so it requires HOTS. Measurement of the effectiveness of EPT learning begins with a needs analysis, through 14 questions identifying learning needs. Furthermore, building EPT simulation media equipped with HOTS Practice questions, and Construct Model-Tracking-Simulation and Analysis (CTA) syntax in learning, as a strategy for achieving EPT learning. The media has been validated by 4 experts with the Aiken's V approach through media instrument validation with a value of 0.86 which is declared valid. It has been tested the effectiveness of learning as measured through trials in the experimental class and control class on 22 students in the control class and 23 students in the experiment class (45 respondents). In the control class, an inquiry model is applied, while the experimental class is a CTA based simulation model. From the results of the tests that have been carried out, the average value of the experimental class was 78,53 and 68,57 in the control class. The application of the simulation-based HOTS thinking skills strategy is effectively used by students in EPT learning.

The ECE kit is practical and has benefits in the lecture process for The Open University ECE Bachelor's study program, which aims to produce professional ECE teachers who can work globally. This research aims to see the results of implementing the ECE kit 2023 from the perspective of students as ECE kit users. This research is an ex-post facto research with 890 student participants who completed the ECE kit implementation questionnaire. The results of the research show that the use of the ECE kit can liven up the learning atmosphere in the classroom. The use of ECE kits as effective media in student teaching practice classes has an impact on learning outcomes. Most students who use ECE kits (52.4%) strongly agree that it is easier for students in their class to understand learning themes if they use ECE kits. Also, 60.1% of students strongly agreed that using ECE kits made students more enthusiastic—teaching practice students. Students in teaching student classes are motivated and enthusiastic about participating in learning with the APE in the ECE kit. Student activity in learning is an important part of achieving outcome course. This research concerns about improving learning student activity via computer simulation in the academic year 2019-2020. In general, the learning media here is anything that can be used to stimulate the thoughts, feelings, attention, and abilities of learners to encourage the learning process. The development of learning technology that is carried out is related to the use of software to help students understand Telecommunication Electromagnetic courses. Evaluation of the use of learning media with computer simulations is carried out using an online system. all students who take this lecture are 25 students. Computer simulations designed to improve student learning activities are well accepted. based on student responses to learning activities that are preferred, the use of computer simulations is 52%, then group discussions, assignments and lectures are 24%, 16% and 8% respectively
