Improved hydrogen desorption properties of Co-doped Li2BNH6

Abstract: The hydrogen desorption properties of Li 2 BNH 6 were improved by doping with cobalt. With the addition of CoCl 2 (7 wt%), more than 8 wt% of hydrogen was released from Li 2 BNH 6 at temperatures below 210°C, which is approximately 90°C lower than that of pristine Li 2 BNH 6 . X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform-infrared and Raman characterizations revealed that the dehydrogenation was a stepwise process with the formation of intermediates Li 4 BN 3 H 10 and LiBH 4 and final products of Li 3 BN 2 and LiH. The… Show more

“…Only a small amount of NH 3 was detected when the temperature was over 350 °C. Additionally, the amount of NH 3 was found to be decreased dramatically if the temperature was kept under 300 °C for a long time. , Reaction was then demonstrated to be theoretical consisting of two elementary solid–gas reactions mediated by NH 3 as shown in reactions and …”

“…It was found that almost all hydrogen (for 500 mg Li 2 NH) or a substantial amount of hydrogen (for 500 mg Li 3 N) was absorbed at 255 °C under 30 bar H 2 within 10 min. About 6.5 wt % hydrogen was found to be reversibly desorbed and absorbed at 528 K in reaction . ,, …”
