“…Diclofenac sodium is one of the group of nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and suppresses inflammation through inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX)‐1 and COX‐2. A recent report described three patients with DD without descriptions of mutation analysis, and these all responded to topical diclofenac sodium 3% gel . In addition, we previously reported that COX‐2 inhibition and prostaglandin receptor type 4G (EP4) inhibition increased ATP2A2 mRNA expression in both ultraviolet (UV)‐irradiated and non‐UV‐irradiated normal human keratinocytes .…”
