“…In contrast to the effect of C. militaris on adipocyte differentiation, its effect on adipocyte hypertrophy might be independent of AhR. Previous reports evidenced antidiabetic effects of C. militaris in pancreatectomized diabetic rats and streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice (8,51). Although the molecular mechanisms involved have not been elucidated, our present results indicate the possibility that the antiadipogenic effect of C. militaris on preadipocytes as well as its antihypertrophic effect on mature adipocytes may, at least in part, explain the antidiabetic effect of this mycelium in vivo.…”

“…militaris has been considered an entomopathogenic fungus that may be potentially useful for prevention and treatment of various pathologies in humans including cancers, inflammation, fibrosis, diabetes, and hypercholesterolemia (8,25,27,30,46,47,50). However, in the majority of previous studies only phenomenological evidence was provided, and molecular mechanisms underlying the beneficial, therapeutic effects of C. militaris have never been reported.…”

“…In China, it has been used as a traditional medicine and health food since ancient times. C. militaris has been reported to have beneficial functional effects such as anti-angiogenesis, 6) anti-tumor, anti-diabetic 7) , and hypoglycemic effects 8) . Cordycepin, a characteristic functional component of C. militaris, has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects.…”
