Abstract:This paper considers a Leray regularization model of incompressible, nonisothermal fluid flows which uses nonlinear filtering based on indicator functions and introduces an efficient numerical method for solving it. The proposed method uses a multistep, second-order temporal discretization with a finite element (FE) spatial discretization in such a way that the resulting algorithm is linear at each time level and decouples the evolution equations from the velocity filter step. Since the indicator function chos… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
