Improving notification of meningitis

Abstract: IMPROVING NOTIFICATIONS OF MENINGITiS I nfbctious disease notification requirements changed in November 1991 with the introduction of the Public Health Act 1991. The number of medical conditions that medical practitioners were required to notify fell from 52 to 10, and responsibility for notification was given to hospital Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and laboratories'.
