“…( 33 ) A ratio of 1:1 was assumed for serum and plasma, whereas 1:2 ratios were assumed for whole‐blood versus serum/plasma. ( 33 ) The limit of detection (LOD) was 0.02 μg/L for samples assessed at NIPH, whereas for samples assessed at RWTH Aachen University, LODs were 0.05 µg/L for PFNA and 0.1 µg/L for the other PFAS. We used all available PFAS measures and applied quantile regression imputation of left‐censored data (QRILC) to obtain singly imputed values for samples with concentration below LOD (ranging from 0.3% to 4.7% across PFAS).…”

“…Approximately a third of the retained exposome studies had a prospective longitudinal design (n = 30, 37%), of which 26 were based on nine large population-based cohorts; the rest four longitudinal studies were relatively small in size, including between 6 and 378 subjects [46][47][48][49]. Out of the 26 studies, eleven were published as part of the Human Early-Life Exposome (HELIX) project using data from six European birth cohorts ( [50][51][52][53][54][55][56]), and among these studies, four belonged to the Spanish INMA (INfancia y Medio Ambiente) [57][58][59][60][61]. Four studies (of the 26) were published as part of the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC), a 20-year population-based cohort designed to determine the influence of environmental (physical and psychological) and genetic factors on the health status and development of the offspring.…”

“…OCs and PBDEs were adjusted for serum lipid concentrations, and phthalate metabolites, phenols, OP pesticide metabolites and cotinine were adjusted for urinary creatinine. Details on the laboratories, limits of quantification, limits of detection and quality control can be found in Haug et al (2018). Table A1.5 in the Annex shows the percent of quantifiable samples, which were higher than 90% for 77% of the childhood exposures and for 82% of the pregnancy exposures.…”

“…A2.2 for childhood). Further details on chemical exposure biomarkers are found in Haug et al (2018). In order to summarize these data, we computed a single principal component separately for each exposure group.…”
