In Vitro Evaluation of Crude Root Extracts of the Plant Species, Hypochaeris Radicata L. For Potential Antibacterial Activity Against Some Human Pathogenic Bacteria

Abstract: The antibacterial activity of the crude root extracts of the medicinal plant species, Hypochaeris radicata was studied against 15 human pathogen bacteria which includes both Gram-positive and Gramnegative strains by using agar well diffusion method. The chloroform and ethyl acetate extracts displayed broad spectrum activity against all the tested organisms but water extract showed no activity.
