“…Moreover, Chung et al [24] and Park et al [25] demonstrated that the scaffolds immobilized by galactose retained a greater number of hepatocytes than those scaffolds which were unmodified or immobilized with galactose, due to specific interactions between hepatocytes and galactose moieties. Yang et al [26] and Wang et al [27] investigated the ability of hydrogels prepared with galactosylated acrylate (GAC) and poly (Nisopropylacrylamide) (NIPAAm) as scaffolds to proliferate hepatocytes and maintain the function of albumin and urea synthesis. They found that the cell adhesion and proliferation of hepatocytes occurred primarily on the surface of the hydrogels, suggesting that the incorporation of GAC containing galactose units could stimulate cell adsorption and growth, as compared with conventional PNIPAAm hydrogel.…”

“…H&E staining is one of the most commonly used observational staining methods for tissue and cell morphology as well as the pathological diagnosis and the clinical pathology diagnosis . Damages of general tissue and variation of cellular nuclei and cytoplasm could be displayed very clearly and colorfully by this method.…”

“…The MN ratio of HL‐7702 cells on the surface DVR‐50% with subcelluar pore size (∼10 μm) was the lowest one, suggesting that the surface with subcellular microporus structure surface had less mutagenic effect on the HL‐7702 cells. This can be attributed to physical properties as well as morphology of the biomaterials surface …”

“…In vitro and in vivo studies have been conducted to assess the biosynthetic activities of HL-7702 cells in order to explore the possibility to use this cell line for a liver support system. In a 7-day in vitro study done by Yang et al [ 40 ], the authors found that HL-7702 cells could keep their function of protein synthesis by culturing on thermoresponsive hydrogen. Albumin secretion continuously grew and the function of urea synthesis was significantly increased with in time delayed from (0.16 ± 0.02) μ mol/mL to (0.41 ± 0.04) μ mol/mL [ 40 ].…”
