In Vivo and In Silico Study of the Antinociceptive and Toxicological Effect of the Extracts of Petiveria alliacea L. Leaves

Abstract: Petiveria alliacea L. is an herb used in traditional medicine in Mexico and its roots have been studied to treat pain. However, until now, the antinociceptive properties of the leaves have not been investigated, being the main section used empirically for the treatment of diseases. For this reason, this study aimed to evaluate the antinociceptive and toxoicological activity of various extracts (aqueous, hexanic, and methanolic) from P. alliacea L. leaves in NIH mice and to perform an in silico analysis of the … Show more

“…It is also interesting to note the progression in the number of publications over the years, which was 0.9 articles/year in the first decade, increasing in the following decades to 1.4 and 2.3 articles/year. Between 2021 and 2022, eight articles were published [ 2 , 4 , 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 , 12 , 19 ]. This, however, points to the continuity of the progression, reaching four articles/year.…”

“…This, however, points to the continuity of the progression, reaching four articles/year. In this last period, we also observed the inclusion of computational tools (in silico methods) to investigate the properties and mechanisms of P. alliacea [ 8 ].…”

“…In this study, we collected 150 phytocompounds for Petiveria alliacea L. through a systematic literature review [24,[30][31][32][33] and using the online database IMPPAT 2.0 [34] (https://cb.imsc.res.in/imppat/home, accessed on 10 January 2024). The 3D structure of these phytocompounds was extracted from the PubChem database [35].…”
