Inactivation of preservatives in the presence of paniculate solids

Abstract: A spectrophotometric investigation has been made of the effect of particulate solids on the activity of selected antimicrobial preservatives. By subjecting these systems to high temperatures and pressures it was possible to determine whether any decrease in activity was due to absorption or chemical degradation of the respective preservative present.
