This article provides a summary of phytochemical composition, nutritional value and health benefits of Pheonix Dactylifera L, commonly known as dates. Additionally, the article explores the potential of date fruit to be utilized as a food medicine in the treatment of various human diseases. We conducted a comprehensive review of the existing literature on the biological functions of date palm and its potential health benefits, utilizing databases literature search engines including PubMed, Scopus, Science Direct and google scholar. Regular consumption of date palm fruits (DPFs) may lower the risk of developing various chronic diseases due to its antioxidant, antidiabetic, antibacterial, anticancer and anti-mutagenic properties. Additionally, the pollen of date palm trees contains high levels of protein, fat, and carbohydrates, making it an excellent natural supplement with substantial nutritional value and energy-boosting properties. Date palm components have demonstrated potent antioxidant effects and have played a crucial role in both male and female reproductive systems, promoting fertility in both genders. Date palm pollen (DPP) has shown gonadal-stimulating potency in females and can significantly increase testosterone levels in individuals with Oligoasthenozoospermia and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) levels in patients with Azoospermia, making it as a potential treatment for reproductive health. According to the literature, date fruit is a highly nutritious fruit compared to other commonly consumed fruits. In conclusion dates have been shown to have a significant impact on various female reproductive parameters such as oogenesis, oocyte development, hormone modulation, and pregnancy strength.

Infertility is a disease and cervical abnormalities of the genital tract in females may cause this condition. To evaluate the cervical abnormalities related to infertility in females a systematic review was done. Related literature were collected via Google Scholar, NCBI, PubMed, and Medscape. For article searching following keywords were used: cervical abnormalities, infertility, uterine anomalies, and cervical factors. As the literature reviewed, more than 60 articles were studied, from which only 45 articles were added. The study suggested that many cervical abnormalities affect fertility including the poor interaction of mucus and sperm in the cervix, cervical cancer, dilatation and stenosis of the cervix, wall irregularities, diverticulum, masses, and metaplasia of the cervix. Some of the microorganisms also affect cervical functions causing infertility. It is concluded that cervical abnormalities can be related to infertility.

Background: Infertility is a global public health issue with a high impact on individuals of both sexes and society. Infertility is ranked as the 5 the highest serious global disability. Aim of study: Was to assess the quality of life among infertile women in Benha City. Research design: Descriptive research design was used to conduct this study. Setting: The study was conducted at Obstetrics and Gynecology Outpatient Clinic in Benha University Hospital. Sample: A convenience sample was used, it included 120 infertile women. Tools: Two tools were used; I: A structured interviewing questionnaire to assess; A) Socio-demographic characteristics of the studied women. B) Past history of the studied women. C) Knowledge of the studied women about infertility. D) Reported practices to improve fertility. II: Scale to assess quality of life among infertile women. Results: 59.2% of the studied women were aged ranged from 30 to less than 40 years old, 43.3% of the studied women had university education, 10.0% of the studied women had good knowledge level about infertility, 51.7% of the studied women had satisfactory reported practices regarding infertility, and 53.3% of the studied women had poor quality of life. Conclusion: Only tenth of the studied women had good knowledge level about infertility, more than half of the studied women had satisfactory reported practices regarding infertility, more than half of the studied women had poor quality of life. There were highly statistically significant relation between the studied women total quality of life score, total knowledge score and total reported practices score. Recommendations: Develop health educational program for the infertile women to improve and update the most current knowledge, practices and quality of life about infertility.
