Abstract:In this paper, we propose a corrosion assisted exfoliation method as an improvement to the traditional tape exfoliation to obtain transition-metal dichalcogenide monolayers. Our method primarily relies on the electrochemical potential difference between transition metals and aluminum. The assistance of bubbles resulting from the bimetallic corrosion increases the yield of the exfoliation process for monolayers by 30-fold while boosting the probability of obtaining isolated monolayers. We use Raman measurements… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
