Influence of additives on swelling and mucoadhesion properties of glyceryl monooleate liquid crystals

Abstract: Liquid crystalline systems of glyceryl monooleate/water are used as drug delivery systems due to their complex structure that controls drug diffusion. Mucoadhesive properties of glyceryl monooleate suggest it can be used for buccal delivery.
