Influence of Boundary Conditions on the Solution to a Mathematical Model for a Given Wooden Plate

Abstract: The article examines deformation of wood veneer and internal forces resulting from bending. Wood is modelled as an orthotropic material. A thin circular wooden plate hemispherically supported at its free edge is bent by axial hubbing of the punch with a hemispherical end. The analysis of the models is carried out by the ANSYS software. Geometric boundary conditions are calculated and set by a macro formed by the APDL (ANSYS Parametric Design Language) scenario language. For the reason of comparison the models … Show more

“…The cutting force required to load the stressed areas of the cutting knife were determined according to Eq. 4 (Beňo et al 2014;Bodnár et al 2016;Kotšmíd et al 2016). As the next step, the knife model was not allowed to move in directions that corresponded to its actual placement (as shown in Fig.…”

“…This delimbing knife was registered as an intellectual property and invention in July 2019 as a utility model UPV SR. The analysis was simulated on a single delimbing knife to which the material and other parameters were selected, on the basis of the maximum force at which the knives are loaded and at what points the strain deformations on the proposed knives are calculated (Bodnár et al 2016;Kotsmíd et al 2016). Stress analysis was designed in a CAD system using the method Abaqus FEA.…”

“…One of the main components of wood processing in logging is delimbing the tree. This process is often made difficult by rugged and sloping terrain, so it is best to use mobile delimbing machines with multi-operational heads (Bodnár et al 2016, Beňo et al 2014.…”

“…The authors [7,8,12] state that for the removable cutting edge, the material HS12-1-2 was chosen, which was highly alloyed, resistant to shock, pressure, abrasion, and eliminated cracking. Based on the cutting force and the design of the special cutting knife, a stress analysis and a finite element method (FEM) was performed.…”
