“…Bourre et al (1993) showed that soya oil contains n-3 fatty acids and it was suggested that these substances reduce the plasma cholesterol level in rats by increasing the transfer of cholesterol into bile. Bonanome and Grundy (1988), Hegsted et al (1965), Keys et al (1965) and Thomasson et al (1967) essentially concluded that 16:0 fatty acids elevate total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol in men and women who are hospitalized or otherwise institutionalized.
