Influence of electromagnetic field (1800 MHz) on lipid peroxidation in brain, blood, liver and kidney in rats

Abstract: The electromagnetic field exposure (EMF), applied in the repeated manner together with opioid drug tramadol (TRAM), slightly enhanced lipid peroxidation level in brain, blood, and kidneys.

“…Also, the results of previous studies on the effects of EHF EMI on lipid peroxidation are still contradictory (Sharov et al, 1983;Logani, Ziskin, 1996;Bodera et al, 2015). Due to this issue, the present study was aimed to investigate the effects of 42.2 and 50.3 GHz MMW frequencies on the lipid peroxidation in different organs of whole body exposure rats.…”

“…There are numerous animal studies that have shown various examples of how microwave (SHF EMI) induce ROS and changes in antioxidant enzymes activity in blood, brain, kidneys and other organs (Kesari et al, 2011;Kesari et al, 2012;Bodera et al, 2015).…”

“…As, Türedi et al, [16] who observed that continuous exposure to 900-MHz of EMR for 1 h / day on postnatal G3b G4a days 22-59, caused an increase in oxidative stress and various pathological changes in bladders and kidneys of male rats. Also, Bodera et al, [17] revealed that exposure to 1800 MHz of EMR caused elevation of MDA levels in blood, brain, and kidney of the experimental rats. Furthermore, other studies detected marked increases in the inflammatory oxidative stress markers after exposure to EMR at 2450MHz exposures on different organs and tissues like heart [18], laryngeotracheal mucosal tissues [19], liver and kidney [20] by increasing MDA, total oxidant status, GSH-PX levels and decreasing TAS levels.…”
