In the field of railway operation, it is essential to establish uniform conditions for interconnectivity requirements and compatibility of equipment in the Pan-European railway area to ensure effective interoperability. It also includes, for example, the introduction of a control system with modern and advanced interlocking systems (safety devices). The European Train Control System (ETCS) is a single European train protection system that will increase safety in rail transport. Nevertheless, this system may have an impact on the throughput on those railway lines where it is applied. The main research objective is to determine the impacts and effects of the configuration of track signaling equipment on the operational management of traffic and especially on the creation of a traffic plan. The optimization of transport processes on the railway infrastructure means creating the conditions for achieving higher throughput performance, especially including a higher number of train paths into the train traffic diagram. This paper examines and compares the impacts of ETCS and its levels (in particular ETCS L3) on the practical throughput of the selected national infrastructure manager. A heuristic procedure is used with the application of the analytical methodology of the Railways of the Slovak Republic (ŽSR), which uses the principles of mathematical statistics and probability. Significant comparative indicators are occupancy times and the degree of utilization of practical throughput. These are used in investment decisions in the modernization of line sections to achieve interoperability of the railway system.

The article is devoted to the study of the life cycle of railway transport services in freight transportation. The features of the service are describe as a type of product. A parametric model of the life cycle of providing services by rail is construct from the moment of loading goods into wagons at the departure station to the moment of unloading at the destination station. There are the comparison of the service life cycle and the turnover of the car. Other operational indicators, features of their calculation and interrelation are also analyze. It is propose to minimize the service life cycle by digitalizing the rationing of operational indicators. It is present the calculation algorithm using by digital methods. The elements of the program interface for calculating and rationing operational indicators are given. The life cycle of the service is comparable to the turnover of the car, but does not take into account the empty mileage of the car. Minimizing the life cycle of products is an important aim, because it will reduce costs, increase the competitiveness and attractiveness of rail transport for cargo owners. Digitalization of the process of calculating and rationing operational indicators can solve this problem. Purpose. The purpose is to apply the product life cycle period to the railway transport service during freight transportation with the subsequent search for opportunities to improve the quality of services provided. Methodology. The article used the analysis of the provision of transportation services from the standpoint of quality management, modeling, as well as the creation of an algorithm and a program for digitalization of a number of operations. Results. The cargo transportation service is differentiate into stages of the life cycle period. It is present a parametric model. They are outline the ways of minimizing the life cycle, which will reduce costs, increase the competitiveness and attractiveness of railway transport for cargo owners. Digitalization of the stage of calculation and rationing of operational indicators can solve this problem Practical implications. It is advisable to apply the results obtained in the railway transportation system, in the work of operators and transport and logistics companies, in the management of the car fleet.

The main goal of transport companies is to improve work efficiency while ensuring public safety and taking into account the non-transport effect. This type of effect is most closely related to the quality of transport services, which, in the face of increased competition between transport companies, is becoming one of the main factors in the sustainability of carrier enterprises and terminal service facilities. It is advisable to take into account the non-transport effect when comparing competing modes of transport, as well as when substantiating the mechanism of state regulation of the transportation market at the municipal and regional levels. The article discusses the concept of the "non-transport effect" in railway transport and describes the causes and cases of its occurrence. Classification of types of non-transport effects is given, and its components are considered. Formulas for calculating the overall non-transport effect are presented, which allow for saving material and labor resources in the process of transportation. The methodological bases for developing a system of criteria for the non-transport effect of the development of railway transport have been formed. The measures that bring the greatest non-transport effect on railway transport enterprises are described. The types of effects that need to be calculated using the direct counting method and based on economic and statistical models are analyzed. A matrix of paired correlation coefficients between indicators characterizing the regions' socio-economic level of development is given.
