Influence of mesh geometries on the design of transparent antennas at 2.45 GHz

Abstract: This paper presents optically transparent dipole antennas with innovative meshes for printing processes. The influence on antenna performance of the meshing geometry, the width and the pitch of dipole are investigated. The study shows that, for a given width, an increase of the performance with a twin small pitch with circle geometry. Furthermore, the antennas with an optical transparency of 70% present a loss of the realized gain around 0.35% compared to an opaque conventional dipole antenna with the same wid… Show more

“…It should be noted that photolithography is a subtractive process, in which the desired patterns are obtained via the removal of materials through etching, cutting, drilling, and grinding. [ 58–62 ] Typically, the production process involves multiple procedures, such as photoresist coating, patterning, developing, chemical etching, and cleaning, [ 63 ] as displayed in Figure a. It is expensive due to the multiple‐step processes involved, a number of which must be performed in a cleanroom environment.…”

“…There are various methods of fabricating meshes utilizing microfabrication such as inkjet printing, laser etching, electroplating, and so on [20,21]. The shape of the mesh is mainly used in the form of a square [14][15][16][17][18][19].…”
