Boron nitride (BN) presented enormous potential in the fabrication of novel membranes with superior separation efficiency. Researchers try to produce membranes with high solvent permeability and good rejection performance in industrial applications. In this review, the recent progress in the fabrication of BN-based membranes with different fabrication techniques and various applications is reviewed. Representative studies on applying BN-based membranes in gas separation, proton exchange, electrodialysis, and water filtration membranes to develop their performance and stability, induce antifouling characteristics, and decline the trade-off between selectivity and permeability, together with the explanation of their mechanisms, are discussed. Moreover, various methods of synthesis of BN allotropes are introduced. In addition, a brief review of simulation studies (molecular dynamic and density function theory) on theoretical studies of BN nanosheet membranes was performed. The authors hope that this review will arouse the active interest of many researchers in the further development of the BNs application in membrane science and technology.

weight, ultrathinness, high flexibility, and comfortable characteristics, wearable electronics that can realize the detection and quantification of electric signals produced by physiological activities and human motions have attracted worldwide research attention. [1][2][3] These wearable electronics integrated with sensing elements can conformally be attached to clothes, skin, or organs, enabling new human motion detection, different disease recognition and personal healthcare management. From this respect, people are working on the "Internet of Medical Things (IoMTs)," which connects numerous wearable sensors to a communication network center to enable regular or real-time communication between doctors and patients. [4,5] As pressure changes can show deteriorated behavior of specific disease area, different wearable health sensors have considered pressure monitoring. [6] However, the traditionally designed electrogram system is usually attached to the human body, in which the electrodes are connected to the skin or organs through the clips, tapes, or puncture needles. The cumbersome design often leads to the incompatible contact between electrodes and the human body and results in signal distortion or high noise. In addition, these electrodes must be connected to external power sources, rigid circuit boards, and communication components to record electrical signals from the human body. Except for electrograms, wearable pressure sensing systems with the lightweight, ultrathin, and flexible features that detects changes in physical stimuli and converts biomechanical stimuli into recorded signals, which are in conformal contact with skin or organs, can be intended in human motion monitoring and individual medical care. [7,8] Most of physical stimuli are generally produced through the normal activities and physical contact by human body, such as pulse, blood pressure, and skin strain, all of which are important health indicators of the human body. [9,10] Herein, wearable pressure sensing can contribute to low-cost wearable noninvasive solutions to record continuous human body signal of electrophysiological activity.Harvesting energy from human mechanical sources like motion-generated pressure and strains has attracted extensive attention to develop self-powered wearable devices, [11,12] Highly sensitive flexible pressure sensors are extensively investigated for various applications, such as electronic skin, human physiological monitoring, and artificial intelligence. However, traditional fabrication technologies are hard to realize the large-area and mass production of wearable sensing devices. Current trend of miniaturization, systematization, and multifunction has raised the problems of total energy consumption, frequent charging, and reduced usage time. In the present era electrostatic dissipation (ESD) property is crucial for packaged electronic device to protect from humidity over long duration. It was important to control the ESD for better integrated packaged electronic gadgets. Polymer blends and composites were modified with nano fillers as a promising area for ESD applications. In the present investigation, polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)/polysulfone (PSF) was modified by untreated (UT) and air plasma treated (PT) hexagonal boron nitride (h‐BN) by solution dispersion method. Spherulitic morphology of nano blends was foreseen through scanning electron microscopy. Surface topography was investigated by atomic force microscopy. Surface roughness was decreased due to plasma exposure. Phonon vibrations and Raman active mode of nano blends were confirmed by Raman spectroscopy mutually supporting ESD phenomenon. Increased electrical conductivity and semicircular impedance pattern of modified blends reveals an excellent ESD property disclosed by impedance spectroscopy. Moderate increased surface energy and decreased relative contact angle of modified blends may be due to the incorporation of polar groups during plasma exposure was confirmed by surface goniometer. Mechanical properties of nano blends were evaluated by universal testing machine. Increased 10–27% tensile strength and 34–55% Young's modulus of plasma treated admix composition. Softness of polymer nano blends was increased (20%) due to excellent interaction of filler and polymer host system were tested by Shore “A” durometer. Increased glass transition temperature (Tg = 16 and 30°C as function of treatment time) in view of thermal stability of modified nano blends were analyzed by thermogravimetric technique. Hence the PT h‐BN dispersed PVDF/PSF emerging polymer nano blends would be a choice for the new development for electrostatic dissipation applications.
