Results of a pot experiment carried out on spinach with vermicompost (5, 10 and 15 ton/ha), phospho-rous (10, 20 and 30 kg/ha) and potassium (20, 30 and 40 kg/ha) fertilizers showed that plant height, leaf area, fresh and dry weight of plants increased significantly (p ≤ 0.5) over the control. Highest height (23.55 cm), leaf area (80.88 cm2/plant), fresh weight (3.838 g/plant) and dry weight (0.274 g/plant) were maximum in VC15P20K30, VC15P30K30, VC10P20K30 and VC10P10K40, respectively, while leaf number was almost same in all the plants. Highest protein content (24.61%) was obtained in the treatment VC15P10K20. Highest dry matter of leaf was obtained at VC10P10K40, but the highest protein content was at VC15P10K20 which might be due to dilution effect. Similar values of protein content were obtained in treatments VC5P20K30, VC5P20K40, VC5P30K20, VC15P10K40, VC15P20K30 and VC15P30K20. Maximum value of nitrogen, phosphorous (1.621%) and potassium (4.066%) were obtained in treatments VC5P20K20 and VC10 P30 K40, VC15 P10 K20, respectively.

Influence of organic manures (10 ton ha-1), nitrogen (50 and 100 kg ha-1), phosphorus (10 and 20 kg ha-1) and potassium (30 and 60 kg ha-1) on the growth and yield of Aloe vera (L.) Burm.f. (Aloe barbadensis Mill.) were evaluated. Experiment was conducted in a randomized design replicated thrice with eleven treatments with NPK and without NPK fertilizers. Highest length of leaf (18 cm), highest leaf area (23.40 cm2plant-1), highest leaf area index 0.06 were observed in ACI10ton ha-1plus N50P10K3O kg ha-1 treatment, highest fresh weight (78.23gplant-1) and highest dry weight (9.58 gplant-1) of plant biomass were observed in GTS 10ton ha-1 treatment. Highest concentration of N (2.69%) and protein content (16.84 %) in the leaf were recorded in GTS10 ton ha-1 treatment. A pot experiment was conducted at the Department of Soil, Water and Environment, University of Dhaka, from 10 January to 24 February 2021, to evaluate the growth parameters, biomass production, and nutrient uptake of red amaranth (Amaranthus tricolor L.) as influenced by different types of organic manures manufactured by companies, viz. ACI, Agro, Kazi, Mazim, McDonald, Naafco, Paragon and Sharib, and by 50% of recommended dose of NPK fertilizers. The experiment consisted of ten treatments with three replications each and was laid out in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). On the day of harvest, Naafco displayed the greatest number of leaves (10.67±2.31), the longest leaf length (8.60 ± 2.07 cm), and the largest leaf area (275.10±118.8 cm2 plant-1), whereas the highest plant height (24.53±3.27cm) and stem girth (24.53±3.27cm) were observed in McDonald. Conversely, Kazi exhibited the poorest performance in all aforementioned parameters. Both the highest fresh and dry weights (10.75±6.09 g plant-1 and 1.31±0.87 g plant-1 respectively) were recorded in Naafco treated plants, and the lowest weights in Kazi (1.98 g plant-1 and 0.23 g plant-1 respectively). The highest total nutrient content (NPKS and Fe) (46.02 mg plant-1) in plants was found in Naafco, while the lowest was in Kazi (3.96 mg plant-1).
