Influence of reaction heat on time dependent processes in a chemically reacting binary mixture

Abstract: In this paper we study time dependent problems, like the propagation of sound waves or the behavior of small local wave disturbances induced by spontaneous internal fluctuations, in a binary mixture undergoing a chemical reaction of type A + A B + B. The study is developed at the hydrodynamic Euler level, in a chemical regime of fast reactive process in which the chemical reaction is close to its final equilibrium state. The hydrodynamic state of the mixture is described by the balance equations for the mass d… Show more

“…The reaction rate results then to be of second order, namely it is proportional to the square of the product concentrations, see Ref. [16]. In particular, the rate law incorporates both the effects of the reactive binary encounters and the effects due to the specific reaction heat and forward activation energy.…”

“…Among others, we quote here Refs. [1,4,5,6,7,8]. However, in our opinion, other contributions at the level of theoretical and modelling approaches should be of interest in order to deeply investigate the effects of the chemical kinetics on sound propagation within reactive systems.…”
