Influence of Technological Parameters of Furane Mixtures on Shrinkage Creation in Ductile Cast Iron Castings

Abstract: Ductile cast iron (GS) has noticed great development in last decades and its boom has no analogue in history humankind. Ductile iron has broaden the use of castings from cast iron into areas, which where exclusively domains for steel castings. Mainly by castings, which weight is very high, is the propensity to shrinkage creation even higher. Shrinkage creation influences mainly material, construction of casting, gating system and mould. Therefore, the main realized experiment was to ascertain the influence of … Show more

“…Formation of burrs is more likely in rounded edges of non-cylindrical shapes than by cylindrical cores, where dilating layer increases compressive stress. As a criteria for susceptibility of mixture with different composition to the error formation, index of heat conductivity can be used [6,7]. Heat conductivity is the degree of material plasticity.…”

“…In some cases, there is the need to use frequencies from 0,5 to 0,8 MHz. [1][2][3][4] The velocity of ultrasonic expansion is related to the amount and shape of graphite. This leads to the relation of velocity and attenuation depending on the wall thickness of the casted component.…”

“…Cast irons are materials with a wide range of properties and application. The main factors influencing mechanical properties of cast iron are graphite morphology, metal matrix composition and casts defects [1][2][3][4]. Graphite fit can appear in several modifications in cast ironslamellar graphite (GJL), nodular graphite (GJS), compacted graphite (GJV), flake graphite (GJM) [5].…”
