Influences of cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide template on photocatalytic degradation of ofloxacin on porous La2Ti2O7

Abstract: Porous La 2 Ti 2 O 7 photocatalyst was synthesized by sol-gel method using cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) as the template. Ofloxacin degradation mechanism and the effects of CTAB on photocatalytic activity of the porous La 2 Ti 2 O 7 were examined. The addition of CTAB in preparation of La 2 Ti 2 O 7 can obviously enhance the activity of the material, and the first order reaction rate constants are 0.0128, 0.0187 and 0.0245 min-1 on the La 2 Ti 2 O 7 samples obtained using 0, 2 and 4 g of CTAB, respect… Show more

“…For the past few years, the high consumption of antibiotics has resulted in their continuous detection in surface, ground, drinking, and wastewater around the world [1]. Their presence is a threat to the ecological environment due to their chemical stability and slow biodegradation since antibiotics are harmful to microorganisms [2,3]. Among the antibiotics, ofloxacin (OFL) is an extensively used 2nd-generation fluoroquinolone due to its good antibacterial activity [4,5].…”
