INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY ADOPTION AND ITS INFLUENCING FACTORS: A STUDY OF INDIAN SMEs

Abstract: Purpose: The current study intends to estimate empirically the factors, which more likely influence the ICT adoption by Indian SMEs. Methodology: Exploratory research has been applied and the current study uses a logistic regression model to estimate the data. The Database was selected as a DV to estimate the model. Main Findings: The summary result of all the five models show that there is one significant variable that explains the ICT adoption among SMEs, i.e. complexity. This shows that the adop… Show more

“…If the observation Y to i is agreed / willing to pay then denoted Yi = 1, the opportunity is Pi, while the opportunity for Yi = 0 (disagree) is (1-Pi). The logit function must be transformed so that it becomes a linear form, one form of transformation is known as logit transformation (Anjum, 2019).…”

“…In particular, Perceived Usefulness (PU) has been mentioned as a driver for adoption in nine articles. PU is defined as the perception that the innovation has a relative advantage over the incumbent practices (Anjum 2019, Awa andOjiabo 2016) and several authors (Anjum 2019, Awa and Ojiabo 2016, Kühn et al 2019, Queiroz and Fosso Wamba 2019, van Hoek 2019, Wong et al 2019) recognize its significance in predicting an organization's adoption intentions. Furthermore, the Cost (C) of the technology may also have a decisive impact on behavioral intentions (Dinca et al 2019, Kühn et al 2019, van Hoek 2019, Y. Wang et al 2019, Wong et al 2019.…”

“…PC "refers to the extent to which a given innovation is regarded to be consistent with the present values, past experiences and the needs of the potential adopters'' (Anjum 2019). Several authors (AL-Shboul 2019, Awa andOjiabo 2016, Walker et al 2016) advocate for the importance of this variable for adoption intention, whereas Anjum (2019) claims that Perceived Ease-of-Use (PEU) exercises a greater influence. PEU is defined as the degree to which a technology is perceived as simple to use and easy to understand (Davis et al 1989).…”
