Infrared laser spectrum of the fundamental band of CO+ (X 2Σ+)

Abstract: The infrared diode laser spectrum of the ν2 band of the FO2 radical Nine Pand R components of the fundamental band of 12CI60+ have been measured using velocity modulation detection. Observed spin-rotation splittings are in agreement with calculated values derived from microwave spectroscopy of the ion. The band center lies at 2183.9193(10) cm-I .

“…In the present work, the wavenumber data of the 10 bands, the infrared data of the rovibronic spectra (10), and the microwave data of the v ϭ 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 levels both for the X 2 ⌺ ϩ state (11,12), a total of 2513 transitions were used simultaneously in a nonlinear least-squares fit. The weights were calculated from the expression w ϭ 1/ 2 , where is the uncertainty for the spectral positions of the lines.…”

“…Many other transitions were observed with doublet splittings given by the formula above. Figure 6 shows the R (l) component of CO+ with the predicted triplet fine structure (Davies & Rothwell 1985). (The different lineshapes for CN and CO+ reflect the different modulation techniques used.…”

“…The 6-0, 1-0, 2-1, 1-1, 0-1, and 2-3 bands were investigated for the first time since Rao published his work [6]. These authors [15] merged the constants and band origins obtained by them from band by band fits, the results of B-X [16,17] and B-A [18] systems and the microwave [19,20] and infrared [21] data. As a result, they received a unique set of molecular constants for the X, A, and B states.…”
