“…The LbL deposition followed the procedure described before. 41 Briefly, the substrate was mounted on a frame at the end of a computercontrolled homemade mechanical hand-robot (operated by Robo Pro software; Fischer Technik, Waldachtal, Germany). The robot transferred the substrate in 30 cycles between the vials containing 0.15 M CuCl 2 in water (immersion time 20 min), water for rinsing, 0.125 M K 3 [Fe(CN) 6 ] in water (immersion time 20 min), and water for rinsing again.…”

“…This was recently highlighted by an in operando infrared reflection−absorption spectroscopic study on cobalt hexacyanoferrate (CoHCF, Co II [Fe III (CN) 6 ] 2/3 •nH 2 O) and CuHCF. 41 The large variety of structural features is further enriched when considering the film's growth on different substrate materials, which has not yet received the same attention as other properties of MHCMs.…”

“…Although not strictly classified as MOFs, metal hexacyanometallates of the Prussian blue family including cobalt and copper hexacyanoferrate prepared as thin films on a gold working electrode have been investigated by polarisation modulation IR SEC (in reflectance mode). [101] Here, coordination of a metal ion to either the C-or N-terminus of the CN À bridging ligand can be identified from IR by the distinct frequency of the T 1u mode of the cyanide stretching mode n(CN), the position revealing the coordination and symmetry around the CN À bridging ligand. SEC analysis provided unambiguous evidence for the oxidation of N-coordinated Co 2þ to Co 3þ in K 2 Co II [Fe II (CN) 6 ] as the first electrochemical oxidation process, followed by partial oxidation of the C-coordinated Fe 2þ to Fe 3þ .…”

“…By cycling the polarization of the light, a difference spectrum of the bulk (s-polarization) and at the electrode surface (p-polarization) can be obtained. PM-IRRAS has been reported in literature as, among others, a method for the study of self-assembled monolayers 59,60 and lipid bilayers [54][55][56][57] . For a more in-depth description of SNIFTIRS and PM-IRRAS the authors recommend reading the work of Guidelli 15 , Bard 61 and Alkire et al 57 .…”

“…Concerning SEIRAS in reflection IR-SEC, electrode materials used are Ni 13,35,41 , Pt 12,[36][37][38][39]48,62 , Pd 43,46,47 and Au 44,45,60,63,64 . While only Liu et al report on using the reflecting electrodes for surface enhanchement 44,45 , it is unlikely that the Au electrodes used by Hosseini et al 60 , Su et al 63 and Villalba et al 64 don't report any enhancement. For Pt, Pd and Ni, SEIRAS has been reported in the past 65 , but none of the papers above mentioned FTIR-SEC papers report this effect.…”
