“…A lower resting temperature in distal limb parts in leisure horses as compared to such temperature in jumping sport horses proved to be consistent with the findings of a study conducted by Soroko et al [20], who demonstrated the significant impact of a horse's training level on the temperature of distal parts of limbs and some areas of the back, which were higher in well-trained horses than in horses in the initial phase of training. Similarly, it was found in Thoroughbred horses that the surface temperature of metacarpus and metatarsus areas determined at rest increased with the intensity of exercise used during the training season [31].
