Inhaled Thiamphenicol and Acetilcysteine in Children with Acute Bacterial Rhinopharyngitis

Abstract: Antibiotic abuse for treating rhinopharyngitis induces the occurrence of resistant bacteria. As topical drugs might reduce this phenomenon, the aims of our study are to evaluate inhaled thiamphenicol associated with acetylcysteine in children with acute bacterial rhinopharyngitis and to compare it with the use of saline solution. The trial was conducted as randomized, parallel group, and single blind. Children, aged 3-6 years, with acute bacterial rhinopharyngitis were treated with aerosolized thiamphenicol as… Show more

“…Consistently, salsobromo-iodine thermal water reduced postnasal driprelated cough in children suffering from acute upper airway infection [116]. Antibiotics, such as tobramycin and thiamphenicol, were intranasally administered using a nasal micronized douche in children with acute rhinopharyngitis: both treatments significantly reduced the symptom severity [117,118]. An original therapeutic strategy was adopted in children with perennial allergic rhinitis, i.e.…”

“…By analogy, it is possible to speculate that tissues taken from DPCs, from exfoliated deciduous teeth (EDCs) and from PDLCs contain a population of multi potential formative cells. International research is still working on the creation of clonogenic, highly proliferating cell lines deriving from pulp tissue from adult (DPSCs) deciduous teeth (SHEDs) or from periodontal ligament (PDLSCs) through enzymatic digestion and culture in the field of selective single-layered cell lines (18)(19)(20)(21)(22)(23).…”

“…The inhibition of MCP-1 is very important since this chemokine clearly promotes inflammation and is a member of the pro-inflammatory cytokines, whereas other cytokines suppress the activity of pro-inflammatory cytokines and are called anti-inflammatory cytokines [25][26][27][28][29] . Pro-inflammatory cytokines are a cascade of gene products usually not produced in healthy subjects.…”
