Inhibition Action of Non‐polar Eichhornia crassipes Extract on the Carbon Steel Corrosion in 1 M HCl

Abstract: In this research, the anti‐corrosion properties of water hyacinth roots are studying. Firstly the roots are extracted by hexane solvent and a non‐polar extract is obtained. At a constant temperature (303 K) the inhibition efficiency increases and the corrosion current density decreases with the increasing of the inhibitor concentration. The thermodynamic measurement results show the mixed (chemical and physical) adsorption process and exothermic process.
