Abstract: Cyclosporine A (CyA) is a cyclic polypeptide calcineurin inhibitor that was first purified in the 1970s by Novartis Pharma (formerly Sandoz Pharma, Switzerland) from cultures of the fungus Tolypocladium inflatum.
