“…Spine EBRT proved to be effective in patients with metastatic spinal cord compression to reduce postsurgical residual tumor volumes and prolong local control (75). In these pooled patients, locoregional spine EBRT mainly targeted the lesions of interest, but was also extended to other spine regions in case of multiple simultaneous IESMs and/or concurrent vertebral metastases (54,55,60). Targeted adjuvant SRS (with a 10 Gy dose) was used in the recent report of Pagano et al (64) with no radiation-induced adverse events, suggesting the feasibility and safety of this protocol for the management of IESMs.…”

“…[ 4 - 6 ] The young age of our patient, 34, led to the first diagnostic suspicion of a lymphoproliferative lesion (i.e., lymphoma), but this was ruled out when the whole-body PET CT scan documented multiple bone metastatic lesions. [ 6 - 8 ]…”

“…We found only two cases of comparable metastatic neuroendocrine dumbbell tumors of unknown origin in the literature. [ 4 , 8 ] Mori et al . reported a 51-year-old female with the sudden onset of paraplegia due to a dumbbell-shaped metastatic extradural lesion at the T10 and T11 levels accompanied by multiple vertebral metastases from a rectal NET.…”

“…Vertebral metastases are most commonly due to breast, prostate, lung, thyroid, renal cell, bladder, and melanotic cancers, with the incidence of skeletal metastases in pancreatic cancer being lower at 5-20% [ 6 , 7 ]. Cervical involvement in pancreatic cancer is even rarer, with only four cases being noted in the literature and no cases involving C2 in particular [ 8 - 11 ]. Vertebral body involvement can be asymptomatic but, when accompanied by fracture, can instead cause uncontrolled pain and instability that is refractory to conservative measures and can predispose patients to cord compression.…”
