Integrated BIM‐to‐FEM approach in mechanised tunnelling

Abstract: In current tunnelling practice, Finite Element (FE) simulations form an integral element in the planning and the design phase of mechanised tunnelling projects. The generation of adequate computational models is often time consuming and requires data from many different sources, in particular, when manually generated using 2D‐CAD drawings. Incorporating Building Information Modelling (BIM) concepts offers opportunities to simplify this process by using geometrical BIM sub‐models as a basis for structural analy… Show more

“…In formula (8), ϖ represents node power, r represents execution time, and t represents total energy consumption. When random tasks are scheduled run in a list allocation mode, the energy consumption is made up of all nodes in the inventory allocation, and each node's energy consumption is proportional to the amount of power it consumes and the average execution time.…”

“…BIM technology is a novel concept in ongoing growth, and its de nition evolves in tandem with technological advancements. As a result, although there are numerous variations of the de nition and interpretation of BIM, the de nition of BIM is primarily represented in the fact that BIM is used across the whole construction project life cycle [6][7][8]. It combines the data from all of the building's components.…”

“…Durch die Integration der Simulationen in die CloudPlattform wird dieser Vorgang immens beschleunigt, da die benötigten Daten automa tisch aus dem zentralen Datenspeicher der Plattform gele sen werden, um die Simulationsmodelle zu konfigurieren. Die Ergebnisse der Simulationen werden dann zurück in den zentralen Datenspeicher der Plattform geschrieben, wo sie zur Auswertung und Optimierung herangezogen werden können [11].…”

“…Um den maximalen Nutzen aus einer integralen Platt form zu erhalten, müssen die einzelnen Komponenten since the required data can be automatically read from the central database of the platform in order to configure the simulation models. The results of simulations are then written back into the central database of the platform, where they can be used for evaluation and optimisation [11].…”
