Integrated optic broadband duplexer made by ion exchange

Abstract: The development of optical amplification and bidirectional traffic in local and wide area networks requires broadband multiplexers which are able to treat the signal of an entire telecommunication window. A device made by ion exchange and answering to these needs is proposed in this letter. Its working principle, based on a leaky structure is first explained.
