Integrated study of gas condensate reservoir characterization through pressure transient analysis

Abstract: This paper presents an alternative semi-analytical model which is able to integrate PVT properties of gas with dynamic pressure domain during production process. A modified three-region radial composite model is developed to evaluate the gas condensate reservoir, taking account of different gas flow behaviors and pressure dependent properties, such as the compressibility factor. The governing equation of the pressure diffusion process is highly nonlinear due to the complex dependence of coefficients on pressur… Show more

“…The larger the pressure conductivity ratio, the higher the position of the horizontal line. (7) At the boundary influence stage, different external boundary conditions have different effects on the quasi pressure and its derivative curve shape. Under closed outer boundary conditions, the pseudo pressure and its derivative curve are severely warped due to the influence of the closed boundary.…”

“…Many scholars have conducted multiple studies on composite gas reservoirs with different physical properties [5][6][7][8][9]. Among them, Meng et al [10] believed that the matrix interaction, pores and fractures can be described by a three-porosity model.…”

“…It was not until 2018 that Zhang and colleagues introduced the first composite model for horizontal GCR with three zones, which, however, assumed isotropy and is not applicable to GCR with developed natural fractures . Subsequently, both the vertical well model incorporating natural fractures and the fracturing model for horizontal wells were introduced. In recent studies, Wang proposed a novel semianalytical model to accurately describe the bottom-hole pressure behavior of water injectors in fractured reservoirs . Additionally, Wei developed analytical models to comprehensively investigate the intricate thermal behavior of fractured reservoirs .…”

“…Abdolnabi and Gringarten applied composite models to horizontal wells. , Bozorgzadeh and Kgogo each gave an opinion that the type curves of lean and medium-rich condensate gas fluids have three-zone radial composite behavior. , However, rich gas fluids exhibit only two-region radial composite behavior . Shahbazi and Zhang proposed an analytical model to explain well test data in gas condensate reservoirs which provided a detailed explanation of the pressure transient analysis curve characteristics for horizontal wells. , Li presented a semianalytical model considering different gas components of the gas condensate reservoir . Dastan proposed a semianalytical model for natural fractured reservoirs under the condition of oil–water two-phase flow .…”
