Integration and Applications of Fog Computing and Cloud Computing Based on the Internet of Things for Provision of Healthcare Services at Home

Abstract: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the world has faced a significant challenge in the increase of the rate of morbidity and mortality among people, particularly the elderly aged patients. The risk of acquiring infections may increase during the visit of patients to the hospitals. The utilisation of technology such as the “Internet of Things (IoT)” based on Fog Computing and Cloud Computing turned out to be efficient in enhancing the healthcare quality services for the patients. The present paper aims at gaining a b… Show more

“…This study focuses on 3 requirements such as mobility, actuation, and control of reliability and scalability, particularly where a large span of areas is covered and for real-time decision-making scenarios. The method of applying IoT, cloud computing, and fog computing in home-based hospitalization has been given in [ 22 ]. In addition to this, this paper also describes the concept of edge computing in remote health monitoring of patients and telehealth which supports the communication between healthcare professionals or doctors and the patients.…”

“…The first two layers share the same padding and have 64 channels with 3*3 filter sizes. Following a stride (2, 2) max pool layer, two layers with 256 filter size and filter size convolution layers are added (3,3). Following that is a stride (2, 2) max pooling layer, which is identical to the preceding layer.…”

“…Significant moment for the development of communication support systems for solutions based on incremental technologies was the emergence of cloud computing. These technologies have revolutionized many areas of our life [30][31][32], and thus also influenced the area related to 3D printing. Resource virtualization ensured scalability of design and manufacturing systems, and thus it was possible to increase the efficiency of use, reduce costs and extend cooperation in both B2B and B2C relations [9,[33][34][35].…”
