Intelligent power LED lighting system with wireless communication

Abstract: This paper presents the design and implementation of an intelligent lighting system using power LEDs. The developed system is able to operate under normal power supply through power grid, as well as in the absence of supply, consisting in the emergency mode. The choice of power LEDs as light source is mainly due to long lifetime and high luminous efficiency of these components, features highly desirable in lighting systems, especially in emergency lighting systems. The system is provided with intelligence impl… Show more

“…This method is achieved by implementing the LED operation circuit in lap by applying DC voltage on LED (V LED ), this DC voltage is ranged from a minimum value to a maximum value, then measuring the values of the forward current I LED (mA) at different values of the forward voltage V FL (Volt), then drawing or monitoring the LED V-I curve on scope screen, as mentioned in [12], [19], and [22], when applying DC voltage on the LED, the mathematical relation that describes the LED behavior is given by equation (21).…”

“…For all methods to extract r D from the slope of the V-I curves, choose an operating point 1 by selecting I LED1 at V FL1 , then choose another operating point 2 by selecting I LED2 at V FL2 , it is necessary to keep the V LED range between the minimum value and maximum value for all LED operating points. The LED dynamic resistance r D can be calculated as equation (22).…”
