Intensified treatment of pregnant insulin-dependent diabetic women

Abstract: Intensified treatment of glycaemic excurtions has become the standard of care for all insulindependent diabetic women. This paper reviews the rationale for intensified insulin treatment programs and offers the algorithms of one approach to achieve and maintain normoglycaemia throughout pregnancy.
