Abstract: A primary perineal reconstruction after APRE can reduce the rate of perineal wound complications. Furthermore, neoadjuvant treatment was shown to carry a major risk for wound complications. Patients after radio-/chemotherapy should undergo a primary reconstruction to prevent procedure-related perioperative morbidity.
