“…The activation of nitrification genes without stimulation of denitrification genes (transformation of NO 3 to N 2 ) could affect the availability of N 2 and the buildup of NO 3 for later fixation. Ag NPs also alter other metal-regulated genes, suggesting that they have an impact on cellular metal homeostasis [ 157 ]. CuO NPs also reduced the output of luminous pyoverdine siderophores in P. chlororaphis by inhibiting the gene expression associated with their periplasmic maturation and secretion [ 158 ].…”

“…Stress-related genes, as well as genes for S, Cu, and Fe equilibrium, are stimulated, suggesting other molecular disturbances. Furthermore, silver nanoparticles affect other metal control genes, implying that they influence cellular metal homeostasis ( Minghetti and Schirmer 2019 ). Similarly, copper oxide nanoparticles inhibited the expression of genes involved in the periplasmic maturation and secretion of fluorescent pyoverdine siderophores in P. chlororaphis , resulting in a decrease in siderophores output ( Dimkpa 2014 ).…”

“…11 In addition, zinc supplementation improved the effects of nanosilver on brain cells 12 and the use of hazardous dosages of silver nitrates resulted in a decrease in intracellular zinc and iron levels. 13 Notably, in rats, zinc had a protective effect against silverinduced toxicity. 14 Similarly, zinc increased the antioxidant state of nickel treated rats' livers.…”
