Internal Thickness Extrapolation

Abstract: Modeling of thin joining zones is one application of Cohesive Zone Elements (CZE). Traction Separation Laws (TSLs) used as constitutive models in most CZEs that can be found in literature cannot fully capture all damage causing deformation modes induced by forming of hybrid components. An approach to overcome this deficiency by using bulk material models within a Cohesive Zone Element is presented.
