“…This figure is the same in both urban and rural areas (The World Bank, 2016g). It has led to a range of different problems, including the spread of diarrhoeal diseases (Inter-American Development Bank, 2011) and parasitic infections (Chew and Lew, 2008; Gutierrez-Jimenez et al , 2013; Huerta et al , 2008; Monárrez-Espino et al , 2011). These health issues invariably hamper any ambitious human development projects.…”

“…Without sufficient antiparasitic therapy, what may initially be just a simple intestinal parasitic infection can later develop into severe infections resulted in severe disability with cognitive, mental and behavioral sequalae [7,8]. Children are very prone and they often encounter re-infection [9,10]. Parasitologically, this persistent infection can be maintained by several factors, and these will be the focus of this review.…”

“…In parasitology, the inclusion of different diagnosis methods depends on each parasite, considering the biological and morphological variability of the microorganism to be examined. There are several qualitative and quantitative methods for parasitological diagnosis, such as Spontaneous sedimentation method of Hofmman and Lutz; Centrifugal-flotation method of Faust; Staining methods of Ziehl Neelzen and Kato Katz and Sedimentation and centrifugation method of Ritchie [7, 8]. …”
