The feasibility of partial-breast irradiation (PBI) has been investigated by several authors, using different techniques, such as brachytherapy with multicatheter [1,2,4,13,15,20,22,23,34,36] or single-catheter implants [7,12,37], three-dimensional conformal external-beam radiotherapy (EBRT) [3,9,35], or intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT) with either electrons [11,18,32,33] or a low-kW X-ray source [14,29,30].
