Intrinsically electrically conducting poly(metal tetrathiooxalates)

Abstract: Poly(meta1 tetrathiooxalates) (poly(MTT0)) have been synthesized and characterized. For M = Cu, Ni, and Pd and DP = 3-8, the compounds have a high absorption over a broad infrared frequency range and dc electrical conductivities of 1-20 (a cm)-'. Only the Cu and Ni compounds are studied in some detail because of their high conductivities. They have low negative values for thermoelectric power, indicating that the free carriers are negatively charged and highly mobile. Exposure to Iz significantly reduces the c… Show more

“…The room temperature conductivity (r RT ) of the CdS sample used for modification is about 9.57 Â 10 À9 S cm À1 belonging to semiconductor, while the oligomer [NiTTO] n has conductivity of 5-20 S cm À1 [16][17][18]. Thus the modification of [NiTTO] n may change the surface entities of the CdS nanocrystals and affects the physical properties of the bulky material.…”

“…The data of lg r change from 10 À9 to 10 À4 S cm À1 , when the modification is increased (layer-by-layer) to 18 layers. As known, [NiTTO] n has a conjugated 1 D chain structure [16][17][18].…”

“…However, the metallodithiolene complexes could only be doped, in a limited quantity, into polymer hosts [11][12][13][14][15] . Attempt to make metallodithiolene complex films failed due to poor film-forming ability and poor solubility [16][17][18] .…”

“…Despite the above vast and many more applications of P3HT, very modest effort has been devoted to understand their thermal decomposition behaviour and whatever literature is available [2][3][4][5][6][7], only discusses basic thermal studies without any direct theoretical support. The study of kinetics and mechanism of pyrolysis is of considerable scientific interest, with regard to the thermal behaviour of organic molecules, the precise constitution of molecules or copolymers, including irregularities, such as structural defects and incorporation of initiator molecules and radical scavengers, used to control the molecular weight.…”
