Introduction of hsa‐miR‐103a and hsa‐miR‐1827 and hsa‐miR‐137 as new regulators of Wnt signaling pathway and their relation to colorectal carcinoma

Abstract: Wnt signaling is hyper-activated in most of human cancers including colorectal carcinoma (CRC). Therefore, the introduction of new regulators for Wnt pathway possesses promising diagnostic and therapeutic applications in cancer medicine. Bioinformatics analysis introduced hsa-miR-103a, hsa-miR-1827, and hsa-miR-137 as potential regulators of Wnt signaling pathway. Here, we intended to examine the effect of these human miRNAs on Wnt signaling pathway components, on the cell cycle progression in CRC originated c… Show more

“…32 Moreover, miR-103a participated in cell progression in colorectal carcinoma or gastric cancer by regulating Wnt pathway or ATF7. 33,34 Therefore, it is of great clinical signicance to reveal the role of miR-103a in DDPresistant BC cells.…”

“…MiR‐137 is located at chromosome 1q32.1. While miR‐137 is more usually reported as a tumor suppressor via binding to its different downstream targets in various malignant tumors including melanoma, colorectal carcinomas, non‐small cell lung cancer, and hepatocellular carcinoma . MiR‐137 was also reported as taking part in Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, schizophrenia and in neural development, and neoplastic transformation .…”

“…miR-103, belonging to miR-103/107 family, has been greatly studied in various cancers but not in neurologic diseases (Fasihi et al, 2017 ; Kfir-Erenfeld et al, 2017 ; Yang et al, 2017 ; Zheng et al, 2017 ). A previous study illuminates that miR-103 improves cancer progress via regulating Wnt signaling pathway in colorectal carcinoma (Fasihi et al, 2017 ). Another study reveals that miR-103 increases cells proliferation and metastasis through targeting Krüppel-like Factor-4 (KLF4) in gastric cancer (Zheng et al, 2017 ).…”
